These delicious ground turkey burgers were made in less than 35 minutes (25 cooking time 10 min preparation). This is a staple meal in my household. Poultry is rich in heme iron. Heme iron has a high bioavailability, which means it's more easily absorbed and used in our bodies. This meal is also rich in protein. And if you've been keeping count, this meal in addition to breakfast adds up to 100% of your daily requirement of protein (essential for hair growth).
Important: When eating iron-focused meals, refrain from dairy products 2 hours before or afterwards. Why? Dairy products such as milk and cheese are high in Calcium. Calcium blocks iron absorption.
As much as I love cheeseburgers, I eat dairy products separately to get the most iron from my poultry.
Remember, iron is an essential mineral required to deliver oxygen to our blood and feed our hair follicles for growth. An iron-deficiency can lead to slow hair growth or loss.
